Industry worldwide takes a hit. Onset of slump in each geographic region varies. While European Union and Southeast Asia show an early downward trend in mid-February, the United States, and India show a late downfall in early to mid March coinciding with travel lockdowns in individual countries.

However, food delivery apps in India have lost a huge chunk of active users in less than a month. We believe this trend to continue as the lockdown in India is more aggressive than other regions.

WeChat has shown a significant growth in both active users and Downloads in Asia. Along with the top 5 apps in the industry, India’s homegrown apps have seen their share of success with active users increasing exponentially in the last 90 days.
Healthcare apps in Southeast Asia are focussing on winning user trust and are running multiple awareness campaigns. This has led to a steep increase in spends on Healthcare apps in Southeast Asia, even though active users have fallen – a good tradeoff!
One of the worst hit industries after Travel & Hospitality is
Active users for ride hailing apps have fallen by a small margin in North America, whereas in Europe the number is almost halved. Though the drop in active users in India is low, downloads have plummeted exponentially. China, on the other hand, sees a significant increase in downloads after the government lifted the lockdown.
