How Women in Tech Are Leading The Charge to #BreakTheBias in 2022

Although every day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of girls and women, for over a hundred years, International Women’s Day has marked the celebration and advocacy for women’s rights and equality worldwide.

This year’s official theme is #BreakTheBias, which calls for action to challenge the status quo of gender roles by raising awareness against bias, celebrating women’s achievement, and taking action for equality.

It’s more important than ever that everyone around the globe makes noise about International Women’s Day, regardless of how they choose to identify themselves. There is a need to progress towards gender equality at a faster pace and speak up against gender bias across the globe.

The tech industry continues to lag in instilling equality in the workplace. Only 37% of tech startups have at least one woman on the board of directors, and women hold only about 25% of jobs in tech (source).
